L'Oreal Professionnel Metal Detox Concentrated Hair Oil - 50ml

A concentrated leave-in oil that shields hair from the metal particles carried in tap water - the deposits behind breakage, dullness and colour that fades unevenly. Held in our Ontario studio and shipped free across Canada.

What it actually does

Hard water carries metal particles that build up inside the hair fibre over time. Once they are in there, they are what make colour shift and fade, and what leaves ends brittle.

Metal Detox uses L'Oreal Professionnel's Glicoamine molecule, which the brand describes as small enough to get inside the fibre, trap those metals and neutralise them. For this oil, L'Oreal Professionnel's own instrumental testing reports up to 97% less breakage, hair up to 2x shinier, and heat protection up to 230°C (450°F). These are the brand's published figures from their own testing, not our measurements.

What it is good for

• Heat protection up to 450°F (230°C), so it doubles as your pre-styling layer before a dryer or iron.
• Frizz and shine - it smooths the cuticle without leaving the lengths greasy.
• Colour-treated hair - colour-safe, and built specifically to slow fading.
• All hair types, with the amount adjusted to your density.

How to use it

Warm it between your palms, then work it through the lengths and ends - not the roots. Do not rinse it out. Style as normal.

• Fine to medium hair: 1-2 pumps
• Medium to thick hair: 2-4 pumps

It works on clean damp hair before styling, or on dry hair when you are restyling later in the day.
